#HowEncoreWorks

Alright, So I wanted to make it easier for prospective clients to understand how this whole thing works. In this blog, I will guide you through the entire process from start to finish, Consultation to design day. There are 2 scenarios that we generally work with.

Scenario 1: You're moving into a new place, you have little to no furniture to start off with- you wish to have your dream home (finally). You have a full time job or you are just completely clueless on how to decorate. You don't want to deal with the hassle of waiting at home for deliveries, shopping in the maze we call ikea, spending hours driving and sourcing out decor items/furniture.

Scenario 2: You are currently residing in your house, it's furnished, but doesn't feel like home. Its missing all of the elements for you to walk in and gasp "I LOVE my place!".

Well, that's where we come in. You call us to book a consultation. I make you go online and read this. #sorry

Alright let's get to it.

Step 1: You call. I will advise you to send photos of the rooms that you would like to have done.

Step 2: I look the photos over to see what I am working with. I then create and invite you to your own Pinterest board. I request that you upload at least 5-10 insperation photos of each room that you want done, in addition to a description of what it is you like about it.

Step 3: I will now have an idea of your tastes, styles and the sizes of your rooms. I will book the consultation at a time that is most convenient for you.

Step 4: What to expect on Consultation day: I have already seen pictures of your space, so now I can share ideas with you (Sometimes that's all a client needs, a push in the right direction!) I will give you a detailed plan on furniture layout, decor pieces, custom built additions, paint colours etc. I take measurements of all walls/floors, take photos from every angle you can think of and also look at lighting options.

If you have already purchased furniture or other pieces, but don't quite like them, I can either a) refurbish them to better suit the space, b) help you sell them or c) they get tossed (at your discretion, of course). We sit down and go over what our plans would be for each room, such as: couch options, decor items, painting, lighting, colours etc.

Each job is unique, a full service move in with an empty space to fill generally takes up to 30 days. What I mean by that is you have little to no furniture. You would need the full service from Encore. We would design, shop, build, and deliver all items to you. We don't do what most designers do: which is to have the client (you) pay for dozens of deliveries, in addition to paying the designer an hourly rate whist waiting for said deliveries.

Encore Designs rents a storage unit for 30 days. We fill it up as we go and deliver all of your items in one day. We like to call this "design day" . We would pick this day together during the consultation. On design day, we prefer the client(s) to not be present. The best part is the reveal at the end of the job. This is when my crew and I deliver, set up/install and decorate for the final product (your dream home).

If your home is already furnished but lacking a lil' somethin'- somethin' - we would not require a storage unit, and the length of time it takes to get the job done will be substantially less. That is something we would go over during the consultation. We would also go over the contract, it protects us both!

Last but not least, the Budget: Before the consultation, please work out what your max budget is for all furniture/decor/services etc. for each room. I advise you to make a list of exactly what is needed for each room and what the estimated cost would be. You will quickly see how fast it all adds up!

The perks of hiring Encore Interiors:

1) We are also a furniture design company. Many of our clients have swooned over photos on Pinterest, wanting us to replicate a piece that they have fallen' in love with, Or they want us to come up with something totally original and custom!

Here are some examples:

One client was in LOVE with this long narrow chevron headboard.

So we made her one:

One client wanted a specific area for all of her wine glasses, bottles and accessories. So we made her this:

One client had a small condo, with little dining space. She wanted to extend the bar area in the kitchen. This condo was just a rental- so no permanent solutions were allowed.

After photo (Yum):

We not only decorate and design, we also build items utterly custom to your home. It can get incredibly expensive to have custom made furnishings, shelving etc. But when you hire Encore, we can do everything and anything ourselves!

2) We have a guy for everything. If you need painting, electrical, wallpapering etc. We have a guy. Some clients do request to use their own contractors- which is absolutely fine as long as we can coordinate the job together!

3) Save money: It might sound strange that hiring someone to decorate your home would save you money since you have the additional fee of Encore's services, however, hiring a designer can help you to avoid costly mistakes that will not only help you save money but can increase the value of your home. Especially when selling – interior styling is essential when listing your home. It can help boost buyer appeal and set your home above the competition.

4) We have a trained eye that can automatically tell you if there is something wrong or right with a space. Having that immediate consult is a major advantage when making aesthetic decisions. It is the result of years of experience.

Thank you for reading!

XOXO
